The Partnership for a Strong Ukraine Program, Phase 2, has announced a selection of businesses from frontline communities for equipment support including diesel generators of various capacities and IT equipment such as laptops and printers.
The focus areas of this opportunity are Economic Stability, Building Community Resilience through Support to MSMEs, and Economic Stabilization Strengthening Communities through Support to MSMEs. These aims are to be achieved by providing equipment-based support, direct delivery of essential business assets, and tackling energy supply problems to restore jobs and launch key production processes.
Eligible micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises must be registered or operating in the target regions of the program and be able to clearly justify their contribution to the economic stabilization of those communities. Participation requires evidence of war-related physical damage or operational disruption as well as a demonstrated need for the requested equipment. The program emphasizes priority consideration for businesses with head offices in qualifying communities and for those whose activities directly benefit local employment, provision of necessary goods and services, and payment of taxes to local budgets.
The application process involves compliance and reputational checks, as well as a detailed evaluation of how the requested equipment supports the continuity and development of the business. Equipment is supplied in kind rather than as cash grants, and specific evaluation criteria include the feasibility and necessity of the equipment, impact on local jobs and services, capacity for stable operations, social value, and inclusiveness of vulnerable or priority populations such as women, youth, internally displaced persons, veterans, and persons with disabilities.
A two-stage selection process ensures that successful applicants not only meet the eligibility thresholds but also undergo a thorough verification and compliance assessment. The ultimate goal is to provide targeted support that aligns with the recovery and stabilization needs of communities affected by war.
