Under the Cooperation Agreement, Foundation for Science and Technology and DAAD launch a competition for the financing of international researcher mobility projects.
Objectives
- The scientific and technological cooperation agreement between Portugal and Germany, established in 1990, provides that the two countries establish a program aimed at promoting cooperation between professors and researchers, including young researchers in higher education establishments and related research institutions in Portugal and Germany.
- One of the planned objectives is to promote researcher exchange actions by supporting their mobility within the scope of international projects.
Funding Information
- Projects will have a maximum duration of 24 months and will be renewable annually under the terms of Articles 13 and 14 of the regulation. The annual FCT funding per project is 2,500 euros.
Beneficiaries
- The beneficiaries of the support granted will be non-business entities of the National Science and Technology System (Higher education institutions, their institutes and R&D units; State or international laboratories based in Portugal; Private non-profit institutions whose main objective is R&D activities; Other public and private non-profit institutions that develop or participate in scientific research activities), and companies of any nature and under any legal form.
Assessment Criteria
- The scientific evaluation of applications submitted to the FCT will be carried out by an evaluator predominantly affiliated with national institutions based on the following evaluation criteria:
- Scientific merit and quality of the proposal
- Quality of the proposal’s research teams
- Relevance of the participation of young researchers from the Portuguese side
- Adaptation of mobility missions to the proposed program
