Deadline Date: January 31, 2026
The iNext is currently accepting grant applications to strengthen the translation of bold scientific ideas into transformative healthcare solutions.
This pitching competition seeks to identify and incubate breakthrough ideas that push the boundaries of traditional R&D and venture investment frameworks. Selected “Moonshot” projects will receive up to USD $500,000 per project (inclusive of all costs) to fund an 18-month journey of pioneering research, supported by Sanofi’s world-class R&D expertise.
Sanofi iNext specifically targets high-risk, cutting-edge ideas that currently fall outside the scope of existing funding mechanisms for early-stage innovation. By empowering bold concepts, the initiative aims to foster transformative breakthroughs and shape the future of healthcare.
Academic labs and biotech companies based in North America and Europe are invited to apply with proposals in one of two high-impact categories. Projects must have a translational approach, as basic science proposals will not be considered.
The first category focuses on next-generation approaches to counter aging-related cellular and tissue dysfunction. Eligible projects may aim to restore cellular and tissue function, counteract age-related immune decline, prevent chronic inflammation, or maintain vaccine responsiveness, all within the context of pharmaceutical R&D. Projects related to nutritional supplements, cosmetics, or lifestyle and digital companion products are not eligible.
The second category seeks paradigm-shifting strategies for the targeted delivery of large molecules, including therapeutic or antigenic proteins and genetic material. Projects should focus on overcoming biological barriers such as the skin, mucosa, blood-brain barrier, or intracellular and intranuclear compartments, addressing current limitations in molecule delivery and therapeutic efficacy.
Sanofi iNext is designed to accelerate the development of innovative biotech solutions with real-world clinical and pharmaceutical applications. Academic labs and biotech companies with the expertise to translate scientific discoveries into impactful outcomes are encouraged to submit proposals that align with these focus areas, turning bold ideas into breakthroughs that can transform patient care.
