O-CEI First Open Call for SMEs and Startups in Edge Computing and IoT

Focus Areas: The focus of this opportunity includes the development and testing of edge solutions in the form of CEI utilities (apps and services) that address real-world challenges identified within eight large-scale pilot projects; solutions that are robust, secure, energy-efficient, and have significant societal and economic impact; involvement in building a digital backbone that benefits citizens, industries, and the environment across Europe.

O-CEI stands at the forefront of the Cloud-Edge-IoT paradigm, revolutionizing how technology, data, and environmental interactions evolve. The project’s eight large-scale pilots form the foundation for a digital infrastructure that is robust, secure, and energy-efficient.

This Open Call invites visionary SMEs and startups to become O-CEI Upscaling Projects by developing and testing their edge computing solutions. Selected participants will have the unique opportunity to validate their technology and refine their solutions in live, operational environments. Beyond funding, the program offers collaboration with leading experts and pilot partners throughout Europe, fostering significant growth and real-world impact.

The project will select 24 exceptional SMEs to receive €100,000 in funding each, along with tailored technical and business support, and participation in a comprehensive 7-month support program. This is a transformative chance for SMEs and startups to solve tangible challenges, contribute to a major European digital initiative, and scale their innovations within an energized ecosystem.
