Nominations open for Core Innovation Hot 30 Awards 2025 (Australia)

The Core Innovation Hot 30 Awards celebrates the hottest Australian innovators in the mining, energy, resources, oil & gas, space and defence industries.

Comprised of small and medium enterprises, CORE Innovations Hot 30 Awards showcase Australian start-ups who have successfully scaled their ideas into businesses and are solving real-world problems with innovative means.

The Hot 30 Awards supports winning companies over 12 months, helping them to grow their network by providing opportunities to continue to build and grow their business.

Being named in the Hot 30 will give your company the ability to leverage CORE’s 5000+ energy and mining ecosystem, access to events and networking with optional exposure at national conferences, marketing and promotional opportunities, and connection to industry.

Categories

  • In addition to being named as a 2024 Hot 30 recipient, there will be 8 awards given to companies who can demonstrate exceptional leadership and innovation in the following categories:
    • Innovator of the Year Award
    • Sustainability Innovation Award
    • Female Led Innovation Award
    • Safety Innovation Award
    • Indigenous Innovation Award
    • South Australian Innovation Award
    • West Australian Innovation Award
    • Pilbara Innovator of the Year Award.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Australian start-ups, scale-ups, and SMEs with innovative technology and services with proven applications in the energy and mining sector are encouraged to apply.
  • Individuals can nominate a company or a company can nominate themselves as long as they fit the following criteria:
    • Have an Australian business number
    • Be developing or have developed your own unique technology, product, or service that has the potential to enhance productivity and improve efficiency in the energy resources supply chain
    • Have been developing this technology for less than 5 years
    • Be working to grow your business to a global market
    • Support CORE’s culture of open innovation and collaboration
    • Have not been previously named in the Hot 30 Award

Judging Criteria

  • CORE Innovation’s Hot 30 is a curated list of technologists and entrepreneurs driving innovation in some of Australia’s most important industries. The Hot 30 companies are judged using the following criteria:
    • Problem the innovation is solving
    • Growth and growth potential
    • Proof of concept
    • Ability to attract investment
    • Team and combined experience.
