The Startup World Cup Luxembourg is a regional competition that connects local startups to a global platform, offering them the opportunity to compete for international recognition and a US$1 million investment prize.
The key objectives of this initiative are to connect global startup ecosystems, encourage talented entrepreneurs to compete at an international level, foster local innovation in Luxembourg, bring together a strong startup ecosystem, and provide startups with exposure to leading venture capitalists and tech entrepreneurs.
Startup World Cup is a global series of conferences and competitions designed to identify and support promising startups from around the world. The competition is structured in three phases, beginning with regional finals held across more than 100 locations globally, followed by a semi-final and a Grand Finale hosted in San Francisco.
The Luxembourg regional competition takes place at the EY offices, where the event serves as a platform to strengthen the local startup ecosystem. Through collaboration with partners, EY Luxembourg aims to create meaningful opportunities for startups by connecting them with influential investors and experienced entrepreneurs.
During the event, six startups are selected in advance by collaboration partners to present their ideas. These startups pitch in front of a distinguished jury comprising leading investors and serial entrepreneurs, making it a highly competitive and valuable opportunity for participants.
The winner of the Luxembourg regional competition advances to represent the country in the next stages of the Startup World Cup in San Francisco. This provides the winning startup with global exposure and a chance to compete for the grand prize of a US$1 million investment.
