The fourth public competition supports project proposals focused on applied research, experimental development and innovation with practical application potential in the transport sector in the Czech Republic.
The competition focuses on Sustainable, accessible and safe transport, Automation, digitalisation and technologically advanced transport, and Low-emission and environmentally friendly transport. The programme supports research covering the entire transport sector and all transport modes including land, water and air transport, as well as transport infrastructure and transport means.
The public competition is designed to support projects that can contribute to new technological processes, approaches and services that generate social and economic benefits in the transport sector. Special emphasis is placed on cooperation between research institutions, academia and the private sector, while also encouraging the commercialization and practical use of research outputs and results.
The expected allocation for the public competition is CZK 400 million, although the final allocation may change depending on state budget possibilities and the provider’s decision. The maximum support amount available per project is CZK 30 million, while the maximum aid intensity is set at 70%.
Eligible applicants include research organizations, enterprises of all sizes including small, medium and large companies, organizational units of the state, territorial self-governing units and other eligible entities specified in the tender documentation. Applicants that are not research organizations or public authorities must apply under the enterprise category.
Each project proposal must include at least one application guarantor based in the Czech Republic responsible for ensuring the practical application and use of the project outputs and results. The guarantor may either be an internal applicant entity or an external entity not directly involved in the project implementation.
Applicants are required to submit project proposals through the SISTA system in Czech or Slovak language. Mandatory attachments may include forms related to specific result types, patent research documents, letters of intent from external application guarantors, ownership structure information and beneficial owner information for foreign participants where applicable.
The programme also requires applicants to clearly define relationships between the proposed project and any completed, ongoing or simultaneously submitted projects to avoid double financing. Failure to comply with these requirements may result in the rejection of the proposal.
Eligible cost categories include personal expenses and scholarships. The programme sets a limit of CZK 1.6 million for average personnel costs per full-time position. Applicants exceeding this limit must provide detailed justification regarding personnel roles, expertise and involvement in project activities.
