The Lebanese Solar Energy Society (LSES) has launched a Request for Proposal for the architectural design of an Integrated Photovoltaic (PV) Solar Structure in Lebanon.
The call focuses on the architectural concept for a centralized solar street lighting system, aiming to integrate photovoltaic technologies into public spaces through innovative, functional, and aesthetically coherent design solutions, while ensuring the seamless integration of solar PV systems and preserving and enhancing the social, urban, and environmental value of the selected area.
This initiative is part of the CERES project (Centers of Excellence for Resilient Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Solutions), co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, which supports sustainable growth, competitiveness of SMEs, job creation, new business models, training programs, technology transfer mechanisms, and the acceleration of the green and digital transition of Mediterranean economies.
Through this RFP, LSES seeks to promote practical deployment of integrated renewable energy solutions, encouraging collaboration between architecture, technology, and urban development. The initiative reflects CERES’s objectives of supporting innovation ecosystems, entrepreneurship, and real-life demonstration initiatives, providing an opportunity to showcase innovative architectural designs that harmonize with public spaces and enhance community value.
By engaging architects and designers, the call fosters creative approaches to integrating solar PV technologies in ways that are not only functional but also visually appealing, contributing to sustainable urban development and demonstrating the potential of renewable energy adoption in Lebanon.
