IIT Mandi Catalyst has opened applications for the HIM Startup Yojana, a seed fund initiative by HPCED designed to help budding innovators from Himachal Pradesh develop their ideas into products and services and launch into the market.
The focus of the opportunity is incubatee/startups working in various incubation centers approved under the Chief Minister’s startup/innovation projects/New Industries Scheme, as well as those startups registered with DPIIT and in production/operation in the state of Himachal Pradesh; the startup should be an Indian company registered under the Companies Act, 2013, registered in HP, and have at least 51% shareholding by bonafide Himachali promoters; startups should be registered in Himachal Pradesh, have their head office in Himachal Pradesh, or have operations in Himachal Pradesh; incubatee/startup should be having 3 months of incubation in any incubation centre empaneled with Govt. of Himachal, however the seed support committee will decide on this issue whether incubation is required or not.
This opportunity is designed to support early-stage startups with innovative solutions by providing financial assistance that enables them to move from concept to product readiness and commercial launch. The initiative aims to build a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem in Himachal Pradesh by backing founders who are rooted in the state and committed to developing businesses within the region.
The program is targeted exclusively at startups that fulfill the eligibility norms laid out under HIM Startup Yojana 2025 and demonstrate potential for growth along with direct operational presence in Himachal Pradesh. Applicants are expected to comply with company registration requirements and shareholding criteria to qualify for the seed fund support.
