The Wild Card EDGE is a competition category under Scottish EDGE designed for pre-trading companies, sole traders, and partnerships, offering a grant-only award of up to £15,000 along with additional non-financial support.
The focus is on supporting businesses that require assistance to take their product or service to market, with winning companies receiving Scottish EDGE support in the form of a grant of up to £15,000 and access to a non-financial support package provided by leading business professionals.
Introduced in 2015, the Wild Card EDGE competition recognizes businesses with the innovative ‘wow’ factor, which may come from a product, service, approach, team, or even brand design. It is a judges’ award category, requiring the collective agreement of the assessment panel that the applicant demonstrates true innovation.
At the conclusion of the assessment day, the judging panel will decide the top Wild Card EDGE winner, who will also be awarded a place at a future Scottish EDGE Semi-final, offering further opportunities to scale visibility and support.
