The Canberra Innovation Network, on behalf of the ACT Government, is offering the Innovation Connect (ICON) grant to support the growth of startups and empower entrepreneurs to develop innovative ideas in the Canberra region.
The focus areas of the program include fostering a thriving startup culture, supporting the development and growth of innovative business ideas, complementing existing funding opportunities, and providing financial assistance through grants ranging from $10,000 to $30,000 (GST exclusive).
The ACT Government has allocated a total of $500,000 (GST exclusive) for the 2023/24 financial year, with a maximum of two funding rounds. Grant periods are typically between 3 and 18 months, although longer periods may be considered in special circumstances. Eligible applicants must have an annual turnover of less than $2 million, maintain their principal place of business in the ACT or surrounding region, hold an ABN, and agree to enter into a Funding Agreement with the Canberra Innovation Network. Applicants ineligible for the program include government agencies or bodies, members of the independent grant panel, and any organizations not meeting the stated criteria.
The Innovation Connect grant provides a valuable opportunity for startups and early-stage businesses to access funding that supports innovation, accelerates business growth, and strengthens the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Canberra.
