Deadline: 3-March-2026
The Haymarket Activation Grant offers significant funding to deliver a major annual cultural activation in Haymarket, Sydney aimed at attracting visitors, celebrating Asian cultures, and strengthening community cohesion.
The funding prioritises projects that celebrate Asian cultures and communities, strengthen social inclusion, enable connectedness and reduce social isolation, support the visitor economy through activations, events and promotion, represent the cultural and social diversity of communities, and activate Haymarket with creative and cultural programming.
This initiative provides $200,000 in cash funding along with up to $100,000 in value-in-kind support, which may include banners and venue hire. The grant supports the delivery of one major activation each year within the Haymarket precinct.
The selected project will be produced through collaborative partnerships and is expected to activate public places, business premises, and vacant spaces with vibrant cultural programming. By transforming these spaces, the initiative aims to bring renewed energy to the precinct while fostering inclusive cultural experiences.
Potential collaborators may include local businesses, landowners seeking to activate vacant properties, media agencies, arts or cultural operators, creative producers or event managers, and local community groups interested in reinvigorating the area. These partnerships are central to ensuring the activation reflects the diversity and character of the community.
The program is open to a broad range of applicants, including eligible not-for-profit organisations, incorporated associations, corporations, co-operatives, trustees of trusts, and for-profit entities. This inclusive eligibility framework encourages diverse proposals capable of delivering a large-scale, high-impact activation that enhances cultural visibility and community connection in Haymarket.
