Deadline Date: April 01, 2026
The Swiss Innovation Prize Competition is designed to foster innovation and support the development of new ideas that have the potential to drive economic growth and improve society.
The competition focuses on promoting a culture of innovation that addresses the sustainable development goals (SDGs) of Swiss Cultural Fund member companies and industry clusters, co-creating innovations and solutions that cater to these goals, specifically in the sectors of Information Technology – Business Process Management (IT-BPM), Life Sciences and Digital Health, and Manufacturing and Construction. It provides a platform for young innovators to develop and present solutions tailored to the priority SDGs of Swiss companies operating in the Philippines and encourages collaboration between industry, academe, and young Filipino thinkers to co-develop research-driven innovations and nurture globally competitive talent.
Participants in the competition have the opportunity to gain mentorship from participating Swiss companies, participate in a 3-day immersion with the Swiss diplomatic corps and business community, visit Swiss companies, and be featured in the business journal of the Swiss Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines and the Embassy of Switzerland in the Philippines. The grand prize winner for each cluster receives a financial reward of PHP 100,000.
The competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students, early researchers, entrepreneurs, and startups based in the Philippines who have innovative ideas or projects that could contribute to economic development and societal improvement. Individuals and teams can participate, but teams should not exceed three members, and participants must be between 18 and 30 years old.
Innovations are evaluated based on their relevance to the specific SDGs prioritized by each cluster, potential impact on economic growth, novelty and innovation compared to existing solutions, and feasibility for realistic development and implementation within a reasonable timeframe and budget. This structured approach ensures that the competition not only recognizes creativity but also practical solutions that can meaningfully advance industry and society.
