The Startup Innovation Challenge 2026 is an online innovation challenge and business growth experience designed for startups, SMEs, tech innovators, and entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
The challenge focuses on EduTech, HealthTech, FinTech, AgroTech, Web3/Blockchain, E-commerce, SaaS, Logistics/Transportation, Real Estate, and other emerging tech sectors.
Organized by Startup Abuja in partnership with Transnet Cloud and AWS, this competition offers participants over ₦100 million worth of prizes, including cash, AWS credits, mentorship, and business support. Participants can access at least ₦1,500,000 in AWS credits through Transnet Cloud, providing a free AWS-powered environment to build and scale their solutions during the challenge.
The prize structure is equity-free and designed to reward innovation and business readiness. The 1st place winner will receive ₦5,000,000 in cash, ₦4,000,000 in AWS credits, and ₦1,000,000 worth of business mentorship and training, totaling ₦10,000,000 in value. The 2nd place winner will earn ₦3,000,000 in cash, ₦4,000,000 in AWS credits, and ₦1,000,000 in mentorship/training, totaling ₦8,000,000 in value. The 3rd place winner will receive ₦2,000,000 in cash, ₦4,000,000 in AWS credits, and ₦1,000,000 in mentorship/training, totaling ₦7,000,000 in value.
The challenge is open to all genders with no age restrictions. Eligible participants include Nigerians, other Africans, and non-Africans building tech solutions for the African market. Applicants must have a tech-enabled solution with at least a working prototype or minimum viable product and a functional website.
