The Aurora Tech Award is an annual global prize created and supported by inDrive to empower women entrepreneurs in IT by providing financial support, mentorship, and opportunities to expand their ventures.
The focus areas of the award include providing financial support for the Top 3 winners, building a community for women in IT, challenging social injustice by fostering impactful connections, addressing gender inequality in the venture world, helping startups succeed in the global market, and offering guidance, useful feedback, media representation, and a safe space to expand professional networks.
The Aurora Tech Award 2025 offers a total prize fund of $85,000 distributed among three winners, with $50,000 for the first prize, $20,000 for the second prize, and $15,000 for the third prize. Alongside financial support, participants benefit from mentorship opportunities, feedback from venture capital experts, and valuable exposure in the media and startup ecosystem.
Applications for the 2025 edition are open until November 12, 2025. The award calendar includes the announcement of the Top 100 Female Founders on December 8, 2025, the Top 30 Female Founders on January 14, 2026, and the Top 10 Finalists on February 16, 2026. Finalists will take part in a mentorship program from February 23 to March 13, 2026, leading up to the award ceremony scheduled between March 28 and April 1, 2026.
To be eligible, startups must be founded or co-founded and led by a woman, have a functional prototype, fit within the investment limit of $6 million including the seed round, be less than five years old, and provide a presentation in English. The initiative seeks startups that aim to make a positive difference in people’s lives.
The award has already made significant impact worldwide, with past winners such as Elizabeth Mwangi from Kenya, whose project Gwiji for Women helped break the cycle of poverty by creating sustainable opportunities for women.
