The Open Challenge Program (OCP) is an initiative designed to support Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) working on DeepTech and innovative AI-based solutions across sectors such as HealthTech, Smart Earth, AgriTech, Mining, and other emerging industries, with implementation based in Nagpur.
The program focuses on AI-based product development, GPU computing infrastructure access, MSME digital transformation, deep technology innovation, sector-specific AI applications, mentoring and skilling support, incubation ecosystem access, and enterprise scaling through advanced computing and innovation services.
The initiative is led by NERVE CoE and is designed to help MSMEs build and scale AI-driven products by providing access to GPU compute infrastructure along with a broader ecosystem of technical and business support services. The program aims to reduce infrastructure barriers for AI development while enabling enterprises to innovate and scale more efficiently.
Selected MSMEs receive access to GPU computing resources within defined usage limits to support AI development and product scaling. In addition, participants can access domain-specific mentoring, business model refinement support, market strategy guidance, and structured training programs focused on AI and emerging technologies. These services are available on a chargeable basis depending on the selected offerings.
The program also provides access to a broader innovation ecosystem that includes hackathons, workshops, industry networking events, and peer collaboration opportunities. Additional facilities include a 10,000 square foot incubation workspace at STPI Nagpur with high-speed connectivity and conference infrastructure, as well as optional services such as intellectual property rights support, patent filing assistance, legal advisory, and accounting services.
Eligibility for the program requires applicants to be registered MSMEs with a valid Udyam Registration Certificate. The enterprise must be actively developing or integrating AI-based solutions, with early-stage AI adoption also considered eligible. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a clear AI use case, a capable team willing to upskill, and a strong intent to scale using advanced technology infrastructure.
The selection process includes application submission, screening based on AI relevance and business potential, technical evaluation, and onboarding. Selected participants are provided with defined compute limits and access to services, with additional chargeable services available upon request.
