The Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc is inviting innovative ideas through the FMN Prize for Innovation to promote sustainable food production in Nigeria.
The initiative focuses on innovation in food production, engineering, and ideas that contribute to sustainable food systems, with the fifth season highlighting innovative practices in cassava production and processing across Nigeria.
Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, a leading food and agro-allied group in Africa, launched the FMN Prize for Innovation to encourage new ideas that can positively influence the country’s food value chain. The initiative aims to promote creativity and practical solutions that support the transformation and long-term development of Nigeria’s food systems. Each year, the competition highlights a critical segment of the food value chain that contributes to building a more sustainable and efficient agricultural sector.
The fifth season of the competition continues this effort by focusing specifically on innovative practices in cassava production and processing. Through this focus area, the program seeks ideas that can enhance productivity, strengthen processing systems, and support the overall development of cassava-related activities in Nigeria’s agricultural landscape.
The competition accepts entries in two different categories to encourage participation from various groups. One category is designed for registered Nigerian small and medium-sized enterprises operating in the food and agro-allied sector, while the second category is open to Nigerian students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels who have innovative ideas aimed at transforming cassava processing and production in the country.
