Deadline: September 17, 2025
Innovators are invited to develop and evaluate binder systems or bio-resin solutions that enable biocomposite panels to be fully recyclable, enhancing circularity in sustainable construction materials.
The focus areas are binders or resins compatible with recyclable biocomposite panels, ensuring recyclability without compromising mechanical properties, aesthetics, or performance. The challenge encourages solutions that may include custom-developed binders and require technical expertise and testing capabilities to validate recyclability and establish a closed-loop recycling process.
Entrants must be UK-registered businesses and comply with requirements concerning manufacturing capacity, resin compatibility with existing equipment, and meeting specified product standards. Funding of up to £25,000 is available for a three-month project aimed at advancing the technology to production readiness within 12–18 months.
Successful applicants will benefit from collaboration with Taner’s Sons Design Studio, including potential manufacturing trials, technical support, prototype development, and introductions to investors and business opportunities.
