Open Call: Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Award

The Living with ICT (LwICT) is inviting all tech enthusiasts, innovators, and professionals to participate in the 9th edition of the ICT Award, awarded for outstanding achievements and excellence in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT).

Recognizing the profound impact of technology in developed and developing nations, including Nepal, they proudly present these awards annually. The ICT Award is dedicated to fostering the growth of the ICT sector by Encouraging, Recognizing, Promoting, and Acknowledging remarkable achievements.

The ICT Award was initiated in 2016 to honor and celebrate exceptional achievements and contributions in the ICT sector. As a prestigious recognition, it identifies and acknowledges role models and champions within the ICT sector of Nepal and South Asia.

Aim

  • The aim of the Award is to:
    • Encourage Participation by individuals, digital campaigns, organizations, groups, students, businesses, and the community in Nepal’s ICT sector.
    • Recognize as role models, the tremendous contributions made by individuals, groups, businesses, and organizations throughout Nepal in the ICT sector.
    • Promote Sustainable Development Goals aimed to achieve decent lives by 2030.
    • Acknowledge the incredible achievements of individuals, groups, and businesses that create a sense of pride, unity, and inspiration throughout the Excellency in the ICT sector of Nepal.

Award Categories

  • Startup ICT Award 2024 
    • This award aims to a reward a Tech-Startup incorporated in last four year and has demonstrated exceptional institutional growth, scaled up product and services and diversified its business model and can showcase resilient and exemplary ICT Startup and its prospects in Nepal.
  • Pioneer ICT Award 2024 
    • This award will be honored to an individual of 45-50 or above, and has made significant contribution towards the promotion and development of the ICT sector. This will unveil a personality who may have remained behind the scene but the contributions done by him/her are unprecedented and undisputed.
  • Product ICT Award 2024 
    • This award aims to recognize an innovative product that can showcase and lead a positive impact of ICT on business or in the lives of the community. Such products should be from the Tech sector and maybe a software or a hardware or a combination of both.
  • Woman Icon ICT Award 2024 
    • This award will be presented to a model icon woman leader of the ICT sector in Nepal. The award recognizes and celebrates females contribution in the tech-industry for their remarkable achievement.
  • Rising Star Innovation ICT Award 2024
    • This award aims to recognize the contribution and innovation made in information technology sector by Youths or Students.
    • The applicant can submit their academic research project or industry innovation to showcase his/her (their) contributions towards the ICT sector of Nepal. However, all the team members should comply the given criteria and the project should not be an R&D Project of any established company.
  • Digital Education ICT AWARD 2024 (Public Sector)
    • This award appreciates the achievements of public educational institutions (School/Colleges) for their excellence in implementation and use of ICT in digital education as an effective tool for teaching and learning activities.
  • Nepali Diaspora ICT Award 2024
    • This award will acknowledge a person from Nepali origin who has made a remarkable imprint in the international arena and has helped identify Nepal as an internationally competent and resource talent pool in the global arena of ICT.
  • Digital Governance ICT Award 2024
    • This award acknowledges the government organizations involved in promoting, using and enabling digital governance.
  • Entrepreneur ICT Award 2024
    • This award will applaud the charisma of the icon ICT Entrepreneur who has energized a whole generation of entrepreneurs. It will recognize their achievement to move ahead and shape the ICT sector of Nepal and abroad.
  • Digital Services ICT Award 2024
    • Private Institution/organization or their specialized ICT initiatives showcasing exemplary incorporation, implementation and execution of ICT tools to serve their constituency.
  • Professional Excellence ICT Award 2024
    • The Professional Excellence ICT Award aims to recognize and honor ICT professional’s excellence in their respective domain as expert. This prestigious award recognizes the exemplary contribution of Nepalese ICT professionals who have professionally excelled and have achieved outstanding results in their professional circle, technical community, organizational reputation or society at large.
  • South Asia Startup ICT Award 2024
    • South Asia is an emerging market for tech and innovation. Startups from South Asia championing the world tech market entails to be acknowledged for their contribution.
    • The South Asia Startup ICT Award 2024 is an initiative that forms a part of the broader ICT Award 2024. It specifically aims to recognize and celebrate entrepreneurship in the South Asian region, bringing together innovative ideas and talented individuals from various countries including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
  • Provincial Startup ICT Recognition 2024
    • Provincial Startup ICT Recognition 2024 honors the technology startups that are active in the provinces and local areas through information and communication technology (ICT). The best startup from seven provinces will receive this honor.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Startup ICT Award 2024: Nepali ICT startup incorporated in or after F.Y.-2076/077. (Within the last five years).
  • Pioneer ICT Award 2024: Nepali Veteran ICT pioneer who has contributed to the development of the ICT sector of Nepal or helping it expand technology & services to foreign countries for the past 20 years or more. The nomination form can be filled by the pioneer herself or anyone else.
  • Product ICT Award 2024: ICT Product released between 14th April 2023 – 15th July 2024 (2080 Baishakh 1 –  2081 Ashar 31) by any Nepali company or organization.
  • Woman Icon ICT Award 2024: Woman Icon who has contributed in the ICT sector of Nepal for the past 10 years or more. The nomination form can be filled by the Woman ICON herself or anyone else.
  • Rising Star Innovation ICT Award 2024: Any one who is a full time student OR an individual below 30 years (born on or after Shrawan 2051 B.S /July 1994 A.D.) is eligible to apply for this award category.
  • Digital Education ICT AWARD 2024 (Public Sector): Public educational institutions (School & Colleges) with exemplary success in the use of ICT in education are eligible to nominate themselves in this category. The nomination form can be filled by the representative from the institution or by any individual.
  • Nepali Diaspora ICT Award 2024: Person from Nepali origin residing and based in foreign countries achieving exemplary feats in the ICT sector.
  • Digital Governance ICT Award 2024: Public or Government organizations with exemplary success in the use of ICT in digital governance are eligible to nominate themselves in the Public sector category.
  • Entrepreneur ICT Award 2024: It honors entrepreneurs with outstanding success over 7 years, recognizing their significant contributions to job creation and the national economy. The nomination form can be filled by the Entrepreneur her/himself or nominated by anyone else.
  • Digital Services ICT Award 2024: This category is targeted for the companies  who are non governmental organizations (like bank, insurance, health, agriculture, tourism, telecommunication service provider, Fintech etc), who have been making their services digital friendly for the general public or the service consumers by the use of information and communication technology.
  • Professional Excellence ICT AWARD 2024: To be eligible, a candidate must have 5 plus years of ICT professional service background in/from Nepal and ideally, s/he should be the key focal person leading the cutting-edge professional innovation in/from Nepal. Any ICT professional can submit nominations for this prestigious award.
  • South Asia Startup ICT Award 2024: ICT startup incorporated between January 2019 A.D and December 2023 A.D. With the country of incorporation in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan or Sri Lanka.
  • Provincial Startup ICT Recognition 2024: The startup must be registered and established within one of the provinces and demonstrate significant growth within its organization. Nepali ICT startup incorporated in or after F.Y.-2076/077. (Within the last five years).
