Deadline Date: February 27, 2026
The Global Water Awards presents a major opportunity for companies, utilities, technology firms, projects and organisations working in water, wastewater and desalination to gain global recognition for innovation, performance and sustainability.
Any individual or organisation can submit a nomination — whether for themselves or for a project, plant, technology or initiative — across a wide range of categories. Submissions must be completed via the Awards’ online nomination form and must be in English; duplicate entries for the same project in the same category are discouraged, but organisations may submit different projects in different categories.
To be eligible, a nominee — whether a company, project or technology — must demonstrate a significant contribution to the water sector. This might include advances in operational efficiency, sustainable financial models, technological breakthroughs, or measurable environmental and social benefits. For most categories, the achievements should have been reported in the preceding year. Nominators are required to provide clear, concise descriptions of what makes their candidate stand out, including evidence and supporting details that illustrate impact, innovation or excellence.
Once nominations close, an independent panel of experts reviews all submissions and creates a shortlist, which is then publicly announced. Shortlisted entities are invited to provide visual materials — such as photos or project logos — for presentation at the awards event. Because the evaluation is conducted by a jury unlinked to nominated entities or sponsors, the process is considered impartial and fair. After shortlisting, voting opens among eligible industry stakeholders and water-sector subscribers, leading up to the final Awards announcement at the global event.
For organisations, utilities and innovators in the water sector, entering the Global Water Awards can bring international visibility and recognition, helping to highlight their contributions to sustainable water management, technological innovation, and service improvement. The Awards offer an important platform to showcase best practices, connect with global peers, and influence the future direction of the water industry.
