Deadline Date: May 20, 2026
The VivaTeh is now accepting applications startups to support Finland’s industry leaders with scalable, high-impact solutions in semiconductors, industrial processes, and smart energy systems.
The challenge focuses on solution maturity and readiness, market fit, interest in Nordic expansion, and team and execution capability. Solutions should demonstrate technical excellence, reliability, readiness for industrial piloting, integration with existing infrastructure and data flows, support for interoperability and smart factory systems, and alignment with sustainability objectives.
Vantaa, the fourth-largest city in Finland, offers an attractive location with an excellent R&D ecosystem and a strong pool of professional talent for the high-tech industry. Over half of Finland’s semiconductor industry revenue, including major players like Vaisala and Okmetic, comes from companies based in Vantaa. The city provides piloting opportunities with key industrial leaders, strong public sector support, and facilitated access to the Finnish startup ecosystem and funding, creating a unique combination of business opportunities for innovative startups.
The Startup Challenge is rooted in Vantaa’s high-tech and semiconductor cluster, where industry leaders and scaleups operate in sensing, measurement, and advanced industrial technologies. It aims to address growing complexity, precision demands, and sustainability pressures in semiconductor and industrial production, accelerating innovations that strengthen competitiveness, precision, scalability, and sustainable manufacturing performance.
