Deadline Date: April 15, 2026
Falling Walls Venture has opened its global call for science breakthroughs, inviting leading actors in science and academia to nominate pioneering science projects and start-ups for international recognition.
The focus areas include science-based start-ups across all scientific disciplines such as biotech, data & AI, cleantech, new materials, engineering, healthcare, and food & agriculture, with a priority on innovations that turn scientific research into business solutions for pressing global challenges.
Falling Walls Venture provides a global platform for science start-ups to gain visibility, expand their network with investors, institutions, and strategic partners, and showcase their innovations at Falling Walls Venture. The competition is designed to highlight entrepreneurial potential in science, offering selected start-ups the opportunity to present their breakthroughs on an exclusive stage and compete to become the Falling Walls Science Breakthrough of the Year in the “Science Start-Ups” category.
Start-ups eligible for the Falling Walls Science Start-Up competition must be based on scientific research and endorsed by a nominating institution such as a university, research institution, accelerator, or incubator. The company must be founded (incorporated) at the time of application and cannot be older than five years. Participating start-ups should already have a prototype or proof of concept.
Start-ups that have previously participated in the Falling Walls Venture Pitches in Berlin are not eligible to compete again. This ensures the competition remains open to new innovations and emerging science-based companies from around the world.
