Deadline: October 31, 2025
Yamaha invites innovators worldwide to bring their world-changing ideas and collaborate to redefine the role of sound and music in every aspect of life.
Themes: Sound×Place, Sound×Well-being, Sound×Creative.
The TRANSPOSE Innovation Challenge is a platform for founders, creators, and challengers to join Yamaha in shaping the future of sound and music. With a history dating back to 1887, Yamaha has spent over 130 years exploring the possibilities of sound, refining technologies to create moving experiences that touch hearts globally. This challenge aims to extend the potential of sound far beyond entertainment, incorporating it into well-being, creativity, and everyday environments.
Participants are encouraged to propose innovative solutions under three core themes. In “Sound×Place,” the focus is on redeveloping spaces through sound to enhance human experiences in locations like hotels, offices, travel, and live events. The “Sound×Well-being” theme seeks ideas that use sound to support mental and physical health, leveraging technology to visualize and measure the effects of sound on mood, sleep, stress, and exercise. “Sound×Creative” invites participants to combine sound with creative expression to develop new entertainment experiences, production environments, and multisensory performances that evoke emotion and joy.
Winning startups will have access to extensive opportunities, including support for proof-of-concept implementation and business partnerships with up to 5 million JPY in funding, collaboration with Yamaha business divisions, discussions about potential funding from Yamaha CVC, and partnerships with other companies. Through these opportunities, Yamaha aims to co-create innovative services and products that redefine the emotional and experiential power of sound in everyday life.
The challenge encourages participants to harness Yamaha’s technology and platforms to launch their vision and set a new standard for global emotional experiences. By joining this initiative, innovators can actively contribute to transforming how people experience and interact with sound, spaces, and creativity.
