DINAPSIS Open Challenge (4th Edition)

In the fourth edition, which will be held in Valencia, entities and administrations pose specific challenges for startups to provide innovative solutions to solve them.

Valencia, recognised as the European Green Capital 2024, is at a key moment to boost its transformation towards a more sustainable and resilient city. In this context, the Open Challenge offers a unique opportunity for startups, companies, institutions and experts to collaborate in identifying and solving the most urgent challenges in urban sustainability.

Challenge Areas

• CHALLENGE 1: Circular economy
  • They seek solutions in the following areas:
    • Awareness
      • Good practices in water consumption
      •  Coach in sustainability and recycling
    • Local symbiosis
      • Waste recovery
      • Food waste management
      • ​​Waste management in sewers
      • Emissions of scope
    • Gamification
      • Gamification of recycling
      •  “Pay as you throw” system
      • Systems to control the opening of containers
• CHALLENGE 2: Sustainable and innovative tourism
  • They seek solutions in the following areas:
    • Smart Cities experience for tourists
      • Balancing trade and local life with tourism
      • Improving the tourist experience
      • Rewarding sustainable tourists
      • Improving night-time noise saturation
    • Agrotourism
      • Sustainability of cultural heritage
      • Sustainability of agricultural heritage
• CHALLENGE 3: Green infrastructure and biodiversity
  • They seek solutions in the following areas:
    • Healthy sports routes
      • Healthy routes of cultural interest (the orchard, the Albufera, etc.)
      • Low temperature routes for running
    • Biodiversity corridors
      • Design of green areas
      • Heat islands: reducing city heat
      • Increase and/or redesign green spaces
    • Pest control
      • Mosquitoes, cockroaches, among others.
    • Water management in parks

What can you win?

• Solution visibility: Present your innovation to the technical and business managers of the DINAPSIS innovation and entrepreneurship community.
• Proof of concept opportunity: Conduct a proof of concept or pilot with one of the main players in the sector, validating your solution in a real-world environment.
• Presentation to experts: If your project is in the TOP 5, you will be able to present it to a committee of experts, potential clients, users and representatives of the Public Administration.

• Start-ups already established
• National and international start-ups
• Proposals applicable to circular economy, sustainable tourism and green infrastructure and biodiversity
• Proposals that offer a technological solution.
