Deadline Date: March 15, 2026
The Eurimages Co-production Development Award (CPDA) provides vital support for early-stage international film co-productions, encouraging collaboration beyond simple co-financing.
The award focuses on promoting feature-length fiction, animation, and documentary films, ensuring projects are developed by independent production companies from Eurimages member States, with creative control and majority participation in development financing, and fostering international collaboration with at least one independent production company from a different member State.
The CPDA offers a non-reimbursable subsidy of €20,000 exclusively for covering development expenses of eligible co-production projects intended for cinema release, with a minimum duration of 70 minutes. Projects previously submitted to the Eurimages Co-production Support Programme are excluded. Independent production companies must maintain majority ownership by nationals of Eurimages member States and meet defined independence criteria regarding audiovisual media service providers. Participation of companies from non-member States is allowed up to 30% of development financing.
One award is granted per co-production market, and an agreement specifying the award amount and conditions will be signed between the winner and Eurimages. Eligible co-production markets must be annual international events lasting at least two consecutive days, established for a minimum of three years, held in a Eurimages member State, and involving professionals from at least ten member States. The initiative must be a legal entity authorized to enter into a partnership agreement with Eurimages, demonstrate added value and international reach, and outline visibility, outreach, gender equality, and environmental sustainability measures.
Project selection for the award must include at least eight eligible projects, ensuring gender balance. Producers must provide a development financing plan and a declaration of compliance with the exclusion criteria using Eurimages’ pre-established template.
