Deadline Date: February 23, 2026
The Avaana Capital is pleased to announce the third edition of the Avaana–Startup India Grand Challenge for Deep Tech Innovation 2025–26, in partnership with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and Startup India.
The challenge focuses on six key verticals: Energy & Mobility, Advanced Manufacturing & Supply Chains, Space Tech, AI & Automation, Next-Gen Materials & Bioengineering, and Emerging Pioneers.
Now in its third edition, the Grand Challenge has become one of India’s leading deep tech platforms, supported by stakeholders across policy, industry, capital, and academia, to identify and empower breakthrough innovators addressing India’s most critical priorities. This year’s edition aligns with India’s national priorities and a rapidly accelerating deep tech landscape, entering an era of innovation-led growth that emphasizes scientific depth, economic resilience, and global competitiveness.
The platform has seen over 1,000 applications, provided ₹2.5 Crore in non-dilutive grants, and unlocked more than 100 strategic partnerships across the ecosystem. It is designed to identify and support India’s deep tech ascent by providing funding, mentorship, and opportunities for collaboration.
Eligibility is open to early-stage startups registered with DPIIT and research-stage innovators leveraging cutting-edge innovation to solve strategic imperatives for India. This year’s Emerging Pioneers track allows researchers from leading academic institutions to apply, even if they are not yet incorporated for commercialization, across the five focus areas mentioned above.
