Apply now for Eco Skills Challenge 2025

Deadline: 9 February 2025

The Eiffage is convinced that collective intelligence will make it possible to meet the challenges of climate and the preservation of living things, which are posed to the construction, concessions and energy sectors. That is why they invite you to participate in the Eco Skills Challenge; their second challenge for students, to put your talents at the disposal of solutions in favor of the ecological transition!

Form a team of 2 to 5 convinced students, propose an idea that will respond to one of the 4 proposed themes and win a place in the final to come and defend your idea in front of a jury of recognized personalities.

Themes

  • Low Carbon: Being eco-responsible means committing to the climate.
    • Climate change is now a reality, its human origin has been demonstrated. If they wish to reduce its impacts, limit changes and their irremediable aspects in the long term, they must rapidly reduce greenhouse gas emissions linked to their activities.
    • Some food for thought:
      • Reducing the carbon impact of their activities and industries;
      • Mobilization around low carbon: suppliers, subcontractors, major customers, R&D partners;
      • Implementation of alternative methods, processes and materials enabling measurable carbon avoidance.
  • Biodiversity: Being eco-responsible is in their nature
    • The fight against the erosion of biodiversity is one of the major challenges of the 21st century Since 2009, Eiffage has been committed to a proactive policy of preserving biodiversity by working to reduce its biodiversity footprint.
    • Some food for thought:
      • Promoting nature in the city to improve well-being and comfort;
      • Reducing the food footprint of city dwellers through sustainable (urban/peri-urban) agriculture.
      • Limit the consumption of natural resources (soil, water, air, mineral resources, etc.);
      • Study and take into account the “grey biodiversity” of materials;
      • Restore degraded soils and environments (de-impermeabilize, depollute, renature, etc.);
      • Limit the disturbance of biodiversity;
      • Projects to raise awareness, provide information and educate users on environmental issues.
  • Water & Aquatic Environments: Being eco-responsible is a no-brainer.
    • How to preserve water resources and wetlands?
    • Some food for thought:
      • Sustainably preserve water resources throughout their cycle (capture-filtration-use);
      • Avoid impacts on wetlands and be vigilant to any risk of water pollution;
      • Integration and adaptations to local constraints.
  • Circular Economy: Being eco-responsible means getting into the loop
    • To combat the scarcity of resources, it is necessary to reduce and optimize the use of virgin raw materials (aggregates, oil, metals, etc.) as often as possible, and this at all stages of a project’s life cycle. Eco-design and material recovery are also two priority areas of the Group’s “Circular Economy” charter.
    • Some food for thought:
      • Assessment and reduction at source of raw material requirements;
      • Favor recycled/reused materials;
      • Promoting rehabilitation and recycling among their customers;
      • Waste management: sorting and traceability;
      • Extending the lifespan of their products and works.

Benefits

  • The finalist teams will be rewarded with a gift from the circular economy.
    • First place: Each member of the 1st team will win an eco-responsible weekend!
    • Second place: Each member of the 2nd team will win an eco-responsible workshop!
    • Third place: Each member of the 3rd team will win an Ethi’kdo card!

Eligibility Criteria

  • The Challenge is only open to:
    • Student: A natural person aged eighteen (18) years and/or legally capable, currently a student enrolled in higher education or a recent graduate of higher education for less than 2 years in relation to the current academic year and able to prove this with a student card. Only one participation in the Challenge will be allowed per person.
    • All documents that can justify the Participant’s eligibility for the Challenge will be requested before the prizes are awarded (e.g. identity document, student card, etc.).
    • This Challenge is not open to permanent staff members of the Organizing Company and Agorize, as well as members of their families.
    • This Challenge is void where prohibited or restricted by applicable law or regulation.
  • Participation in the Challenge must be done as a team.
    • Teams: Individual participants may choose to form a team (the “Team”) of 2 to 5 members maximum.
