Deadline Date: November 30, 2025
Arteche has announced an Open Innovation Call inviting innovative solutions to accelerate the transformation of the energy sector through technology, digitalization, and sustainability.
The focus areas of the call are Asset Management, Direct Current (DC), Harmonic Measurement, Distribution Automation, Power Electronics, and Fiber Optics. The goal for Asset Management is to shift from reactive to proactive strategies in managing electrical assets throughout their lifecycle, using technologies and applications such as predictive maintenance and condition monitoring, digital twins and IoT for traceability and remote control, energy storage integration, AI algorithms for optimization, and cybersecurity for critical infrastructure. For Direct Current (DC), the goal is to promote the use of DC in power transmission and distribution through HVDC transmission for long distances, direct integration of renewables in DC, hybrid AC/DC systems, standards and interoperability in DC networks, and DC energy storage for grid stability.
The goal for Harmonic Measurement is to improve the quality and reliability of the electrical system through advanced real-time measurement devices, integration with smart grids and IoT connectivity, harmonic filtering and mitigation techniques, and regulatory compliance in power quality. For Distribution Automation, the goal is to automate and optimize the electrical distribution network with smart grid integration, DERs, edge computing, AI algorithms for prediction and self-healing, real-time communication technologies, and cybersecurity. In Power Electronics, the goal is to enhance efficiency in energy generation, distribution, and storage through power electronics for renewables and storage, high-frequency switching and digital processing, modular design, conversion loss reduction, and digital twin simulation.
The goal for Fiber Optics is to strengthen communication and control in electrical systems using fiber optic sensors and communication networks, monitoring for medium and high voltage, integration with substation automation systems, and remote diagnostics of electrical system components.
