Deadline Date: February 03, 2026
The Victorian Government offers an important grant opportunity designed to strengthen facilities that support the welfare and wellbeing of veterans across the state.
Funding is directed toward projects that improve or increase the use of community facilities, ensuring that these spaces continue to play a meaningful role in supporting ex-service communities. Priority is given to initiatives that demonstrate strong effectiveness, provide financial or in-kind contributions, or are located in regional and rural areas where resources may be limited. Projects from organisations with restricted revenue sources also receive greater consideration, helping to ensure equitable support across metropolitan Melbourne and regional local government areas.
Grants ranging from $5,000 to $50,000 are available, giving organisations flexibility to pursue projects of various scales. Applicants must ensure they are seeking funding for an eligible activity and do not have outstanding reports for previous grants. The program places a strong emphasis on proper governance and responsible use of public funds, requiring all applicants to meet specific organisational eligibility standards.
To apply, organisations must hold a valid Australian Business Number or provide confirmation from the Australian Taxation Office that no withholding tax is required. Eligible entities include not-for-profit companies registered under the Corporations Act, incorporated associations, and other recognised bodies under Australian legislation. Unincorporated groups may participate if they apply through an auspice or qualify as a government entity or an eligible social enterprise.
Social enterprises may apply if they demonstrate a mission aligned with the welfare of veterans and provide evidence of their operational model, whether through employment creation, meeting unmet community needs or redistributing profits for public benefit. All applicants must show that their primary activity centres on supporting the ex-service community in Victoria, must be financially solvent and must be based in Australia. Funded projects must be delivered within Victoria.
Some entities are excluded from applying, including state and federal government departments, individuals, sole traders, hospitals, health service organisations and commercial enterprises not recognised as tax-exempt charities. Organisations that have failed to meet previous grant obligations are also ineligible.
Through this funding program, the Victorian Government continues its commitment to enhancing community facilities that honour and support veterans. By prioritising effective, sustainable and community-focused initiatives, the program ensures that resources reach organisations dedicated to improving the lives and wellbeing of those who have served.
