Deadline Date: December 21, 2025
The NSW Government is offering financial support to eligible businesses in New South Wales to advance the pre-market development and commercialisation of innovative products.
The objective of the Program is to: support eligible businesses throughout the pre-market development and commercialisation pathway of their innovative products in NSW; and attract and retain commercialisation activities in NSW. The Program targets products within Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 3 – 9 to help them move along the TRL scale and enable them to attract large-scale private investment.
The NSW Government will provide up to $3 million per annum for the Program to 30 June 2029. The Program supports the Government’s commitment, as outlined in the NSW Innovation Blueprint, to increase funding access for priority groups and help bridge the equity gap in the startup ecosystem.
Funding is offered under two streams. Stream 1 provides a grant of up to 50 per cent of the Total Eligible Project Expenditure, with a minimum grant of $20,000 and a maximum grant of $50,000, requiring a minimum co-contribution of 50 per cent. Stream 2 applies if the business is women-owned and managed, regionally headquartered and operated, or Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander majority-owned and managed. Under this stream, funding will cover up to 75 per cent of the Total Eligible Project Expenditure, with a minimum grant of $20,000 and a maximum grant of $75,000, requiring a 25 per cent cash co-contribution. Applicants must provide a cash contribution aligned with the stream they are applying for.
To be eligible, businesses must have an active Australian Business Number, be headquartered in NSW, have an account with an Australian Authorised Deposit-taking Institution, and be a company incorporated in Australia or an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation. They must hold Intellectual Property or rights to commercialise, have an aggregated turnover of $400,000 or less in each of the three financial years prior to application lodgement, and have 10 or fewer Full Time Equivalent employees including founders. Applicants must also meet the eligibility requirements related to the co-contribution stream selected.
