Apply for Screen Territory Seed Funding Grants (Australia)

The objective of this program is to prioritise support for Northern Territory writers, directors and producers to explore the potential of creative ideas through the development of a treatment or proposal and support materials. Funding available up to $5 000 per application. All applications must meet the general eligibility requirements as outlined in the Terms of Trade. The following formats are eligible for funding through this program: Feature films, Adult and children’s drama and narrative comedy including television series, miniseries, telemovies and web series, Content-rich factual/documentary television or web programs. Seed funding is available to experienced practitioners as well as to emerging practitioners who do not yet have an ‘eligible screen credit’ of at least 10 minutes in duration. Emerging practitioners will need to submit additional materials in order to demonstrate their capabilities and Screen Territory may require the attachment of a mentor or story consultant where appropriate.

This funding opportunity supports creative talent within the Northern Territory to develop strong, competitive content concepts capable of progressing toward production. Successful applicants can utilise grant funds to strengthen storytelling frameworks, build compelling pitch packages and refine concepts for market readiness.

The initiative encourages growth of both new and established screen professionals by offering development support regardless of prior credits, provided applicants satisfy general eligibility requirements. It fosters opportunity and skill advancement within the Territory’s screen ecosystem by supporting the earliest stages of project development.
