The ABC Enterprise Grant Fund has been established to strengthen the growth and development of micro-businesses across the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area.
The focus areas of this opportunity are described as follows: support the growth and development of micro-businesses, drive innovation, create employment, contribute to the vibrancy and resilience of our communities, available through a competitive open call, cover up to 50% of eligible costs, grants ranging from £1,000 to £5,000, be a micro-business with up to 10 full-time employees, be located within the Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council area, be actively trading for at least 3 months, have a business bank account or a personal account clearly showing business activity.
This fund has been developed in recognition of the vital role micro-businesses play in the borough’s economic landscape. These small enterprises act as engines of innovation, generate employment opportunities, and contribute significantly to local vibrancy and community resilience. Through targeted financial support, the Council aims to empower them to invest in their operations, pursue expansion plans, and strengthen long-term sustainability.
The grant operates through a competitive open call, providing a clear structure for applications with specified opening and closing dates. Funding offered under the program can cover up to half of eligible project costs, giving businesses the ability to make strategic investments with reduced financial pressure. The grant amounts range between £1,000 and £5,000, allowing flexibility to support a variety of business needs.
Eligibility for the fund focuses on micro-businesses with up to ten full-time employees that are located within the Council area. Applicants must be actively trading for at least three months and demonstrate business activity through either a dedicated business account or a personal account that clearly shows business transactions. These criteria ensure that support is directed toward established operations with clear potential for development.
