Averroes Ventures has launched the first accelerator program in MENA and Africa to scale up SME-led organic waste solutions and mobilize methane finance in emerging markets.
The focus areas include supporting SMEs to scale up waste valorization solutions and technologies, fostering innovation that bridges entrepreneurship and climate impact, creating green jobs across the emerging value chain, and mobilizing catalytic funding to promising but underinvested solutions.
Funded by the Global Methane Hub, this pioneering program is designed to accelerate sustainable entrepreneurship and strengthen the role of small and medium enterprises in driving climate action and circular economy growth. Through Averroes Ventures Circularity Labs, the program leverages deep industry expertise and decades of experience in sustainability, enterprise growth, and investment to transform innovative ideas into scalable, investment-ready businesses that enhance climate resilience and resource efficiency.
Circularity Labs supports participating SMEs to become investment ready and access investments, catalytic grants, and financing opportunities through Averroes’ private capital and impact investment networks. It enables them to build strategic partnerships across national, regional, and global circular economy ecosystems and provides tailored technical, legal, and financial advisory services to meet their specific growth needs. Additionally, participants receive dedicated R&D support through the ‘From Lab to Market’ approach and guidance in Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) of methane to effectively showcase their impact.
