The Accelerator Program Access Grants (APAG) offer up to $20,000 (excluding GST) to support senior or executive-level managers in participating in national or international incubator, accelerator, or business training programs.
The focus is to increase the skills and experience of WA leaders through opportunities provided by national and international programs; assist Western Australian companies working in the biomedical industry to advance their business and products; assist them to build business relationships and get exposure to new networks in order to grow their commercial opportunities and jobs; and showcase talent and build the profile of Western Australian industry.
The program provides funding of up to $20,000 per organisation to support up to two team members’ participation in professional development programs, covering costs such as flights, accommodation, and registration. Applicants are required to contribute a minimum of 20% towards the total project cost, ensuring shared investment in leadership and innovation development.
Eligible activities include participation in major domestic or international executive-level internships, accelerator programs, or incubator programs focused on the health and medical life sciences industry.
To be eligible, applicants must be small to medium enterprises based and headquartered in Western Australia, employing between two and 200 people. They must operate within the Health and Medical Life Sciences sector, be legally solvent, and possess valid business registration such as an ABN, ACN, or Certificate of Incorporation.
Candidate participants must live in Western Australia, hold senior management or executive roles, or have significant intellectual property ownership within the applying company. The grant cannot be used by medical research institutes, government agencies, or not-for-profit organisations, and recipients must not have previously received APAG funding or similar state support for the same activity.
