The Australian Women in Security Network (AWSN), is proud to announce the 2024 Victorian Women in Security Program – an initiative to increase the number of women in technical cybersecurity and cybersecurity leadership roles across Victoria.
- The Victorian Women in Security Program will be offered across 2 streams:
- Security Pathways for Victorians Program – equip women in Victoria with enhanced cybersecurity skills, knowledge, and certifications while also aiding in job readiness.
- Women in Security Leadership for Victorians Program – for Victorian women currently working in security and are looking to elevate their career.
- Through comprehensive training, certification opportunities, and personalised mentorship, this program will provide 90 ambitious women in Victoria with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to thrive in cybersecurity roles.
Criteria
- Security Pathways for Victorians
- Duration: 1 year
- Who is this pathway for?
- IT / Systems Admin / Helpdesk / Technologists for 2+ years looking to transition into cybersecurity
- Women returning to work after a career break from a career in IT or security
- Those in a security role who want to enhance their technical skills or want to move into a technical role
- Those wanting to get into Security Operations Centre Analyst, security engineer, security administrator or threat intelligence roles
- Women in Security Leadership for Victorians
- Duration: 1 year
- Who is this pathway for?
- Women with an experience of 3+ years in security with the desire to move into a senior leadership position in the next 2-3 years, or
- Women with an experience of 3+ years as a senior leader/manager (in any field) and have recently moved into a security role or wanting to move into a security leadership role, or
- Women returning from a career break (either in security or leadership) and want to refresh and update your leadership skills.
