Deadline Date: December 02, 2025
The Music Australia Export Development Fund offers matched funding of up to $10,000 to support international promotional and content creation activities for Australian contemporary music professionals.
Focus: The International Market and Audience Development fund (Category 3) is designed to support activity that includes international promotional and content creation activities with matched funding of $2,000 to $10,000.
The Music Australia Export Development Fund is a bold partnership between the Australian Government and the Australian music industry, aimed at providing financial support to a diverse range of Australian artists. It supports emerging, breakthrough, and established acts and is open to Australian citizens or permanent residents who are practising music professionals. Eligible applicants include solo artists, instrumentalists, bands, ensembles, DJ/producers and electronic artists, producers, songwriters, and composers. The program requires applicants to complete the Go Global Toolkit quiz under ‘Creative Industries’ before applying.
The fund supports activity that includes implementing international PR and promotional campaigns, international radio campaigns, creating content such as music video clips, social media reels, and lyric translations targeted towards international audiences, and implementing global digital marketing strategies. Applicants can also include costs directly related to artist and creative worker fees, team member expenses, travel, insurance, visas, freight, childcare, carer and access costs, event tickets, registration costs, and measures to reduce environmental impact. Access costs are recognised as legitimate expenses and may be included to ensure accessibility for all.
Applications must demonstrate matched funding equal to or greater than the grant request and include evidence in the support materials. The eligible activity period is between 1 April 2026 and 30 June 2026, to be completed within 12 months.
The fund is open to individual Australian artists, composers, and creators, as well as organisations or music businesses applying on behalf of their artists. While previous recipients may reapply, priority may be given to first-time applicants. First Nations applicants are strongly encouraged to apply. Activities that do not meet the definition of contemporary Australian music, activities based in Australia, manufacturing of albums or merchandise, and capital or relocation expenses are not eligible.
