The Logistics Excellence, Advancement, and Performance Shield (LEAPS) 2025, organized by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, India, is an initiative to recognize and celebrate outstanding practices and innovations in the logistics sector across India through a structured nomination and selection process.
The focus areas of LEAPS 2025 include comprehensive coverage of all logistics sectors and ecosystem enablers, special focus on MSMEs and Startups, showcase of diversity, inclusion and ESG best practices in the logistics industry, alignment with the objectives of PM Gati Shakti, alignment with the mission of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and process innovation and efficiency aided by technology adoption.
LEAPS 2025 aims to create a new benchmark in India and globally by acknowledging leadership and innovative endeavors across sectors including air, road, sea, rail freight, warehousing, and multimodal transportation, while also recognizing MSMEs, Startups, and Academia providing innovative solutions across the logistics ecosystem. The program highlights sustainability, ESG practices, and green logistics, promoting collaboration between government, industry, and academia to improve logistics infrastructure and efficiency in line with the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan and the National Logistics Policy.
Eligibility for participation varies by category. Core logistics and special category companies must be registered in India, possess all relevant trade registrations, maintain a default-free record for the last three fiscal years, and provide audited financial statements. Startups must be DPIIT recognized, have a market-ready hardware, software, or process solution, comply with trade registrations, maintain default-free records, and submit audited financial statements. MSMEs must be recognized entities, meet all trade registrations, maintain default-free records, and submit audited financial statements. Institutions must be officially registered with appropriate educational or governmental authorities and accredited by national or regional bodies. All entities should have at least three years of operational experience.
The award consists of a trophy and certificate, with 13 awards distributed across categories. Nominations can be submitted by the organizations themselves. The selection process includes three stages: preliminary screening for completeness and eligibility, evaluation by a screening committee with government and industry experts, and final presentation to a National Jury consisting of senior officials and industry stalwarts. The award ceremony is tentatively scheduled for January 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.
