The Innovate with nbn Grants Program supports regional and remote digital businesses across Australia by providing funding to champion innovation, resilience, and creativity in challenging environments.
The focus of the program includes making the most of the nbn® network to help enable regional Australians to live, learn and work in a digital society, challenging the traditional markets in regional Australia, lifting digital participation and stimulating regional economies, and championing digital adoption for regional and remote communities.
Now in its sixth year, the program offers a total of $125,000 in funding, awarding $15,000 to one outstanding business or organisation in each of the seven categories: Agriculture, Arts & Tourism, Education, Health, Indigenous Business, Sports & Recreation, and Women in Regional Business. In addition, one exceptional entry will be recognised as the Innovate with nbn® Champion and receive an extra $20,000 grant.
Eligibility criteria require applicants to be connected to the nbn network, located in regional Australia, hold an Australian Business Number (ABN), and have an Australian bank account corresponding to the ABN. Each applicant can only apply for one category.
Applications for the 2025 program close on 12 October 2025, and the successful grant recipients will be announced on 11 November 2025. The program is delivered in partnership with the Regional Australia Institute, which works to empower regional communities to thrive through research, policy, and collaboration.
