Deadline: 31 August 2025
Entries are now open for the EU Product Safety Award to encourage and honour innovative research in the area of consumer product safety.
Safety matters to consumers. If it matters to you as a business or a researcher, then this could be your chance to show it and shine.
Why apply?
- The EU Product Safety Award means widespread recognition and a boost to your reputation. All winners will receive a diploma and trophy at a prestigious Award ceremony in Brussels.
- As a winning company, you will be able to use the European Product Safety Award logo for promotional activities of the winning initiative or product. There will be separate awards for SMEs and large companies.
- As a winning researcher, you will be invited to present your research at the Award ceremony and the upcoming International Product Safety Week 2026.
Award Information
- The applicants will present their best practices at an Award ceremony, taking place on 10 December 2025 (to be confirmed) in Brussels, should they be granted one of the awards. The Commission will pay for the accommodation and travel (between one of the 30 countries eligible for the Award and Brussels) for one representative of each awarded company.
- The winners may use the logo and branding of the Award to promote their position as product safety champions without prior approval of the Commission. No financial contribution will be given to the winners and the Award itself is purely symbolic.
- The Commission will promote the rewarded practices through its website, social media, dedicated brochure and any other appropriate channels. It may use any information submitted in the applications (in particular the names and countries of the companies, the description of the best practices and what makes them innovative), unless the applicant explicitly requests that certain elements remain confidential (e.g. to protect their commercial interests).
Eligible Research
- The research submitted for the Award may represent any academic discipline (e.g. law, data science, economics, engineering, business and marketing, communication studies, information technology, etc.) as long as its findings are relevant for consumer product safety. The research may concern any aspect of consumer product safety and any type of consumer products other than food, medicines
