The PAIDAR Programme offers micro grants to help establish micro and small businesses in rural Sindh, supporting poverty reduction and inclusive development.
The programme focuses on poverty reduction, overall development in rural Sindh, financial assistance for setting up small businesses, training to improve technical and financial skills, entrepreneurship support, livelihood improvement for poor women, men and youth, and the establishment of new income-generating businesses.
The PAIDAR Programme is a five-year initiative funded by the European Union and implemented with UNIDO to support poverty alleviation and inclusive development in rural Sindh. It aims to assist the Sindh government in implementing the Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper across selected districts.
The long-term objective of the programme is to reduce poverty and improve livelihoods for disadvantaged communities in Sindh province. It also provides training and financial assistance in the form of grants to support entrepreneurship and encourage the creation of new businesses.
ACT International implements the micro grants component of the PAIDAR Programme in Thatta district. The initiative supports entrepreneurs in establishing new businesses, expanding existing ones, or introducing innovative ideas with strong potential for income generation, job creation, and sustainable employment.
Micro grants are intended to support viable small and medium-scale business ideas, with a preference for innovative or technology-based enterprises. The maximum grant amount is up to € 10,000, which may be provided in rupees or euros as applicable.
Certain types of businesses are not eligible for funding, including infrastructure or construction work, purchase of land or buildings, purchase of vehicles, and businesses that do not generate income, as well as agriculture, milk sales, and livestock sales activities.
