The Sweden Battery Value Chain Canadian Technology Accelerator Special Edition is seeking applications from Canadian battery and supply chain companies looking to expand into the Swedish market.
The focus areas, of this program include the battery value chain, clean energy transition, electrification, sustainable battery value chain development, critical minerals, clean technologies, industrial cooperation, innovation, market intelligence, expert mentorship, strategic networking, collaboration, and co-innovation.
Demand for batteries is expected to increase rapidly in the coming years as Sweden continues its transition to clean energy and electrification across multiple sectors. Sweden has set a goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2045, and one of the key strategies developed by its industrial sectors is the establishment of a sustainable battery value chain.
The program is supported by the Canada Sweden Strategic Partnership Agreement signed in November 2025. The agreement encourages cooperation between the two countries in priority areas related to the battery value chain and provides a framework for bilateral collaboration.
This special edition of the Canadian Technology Accelerator program is designed to help Canadian companies understand and access the Swedish market. Participants will receive market intelligence, expert mentorship, and opportunities to connect with potential buyers and partners to encourage collaboration and co-innovation.
The in-market visit will be organised alongside Battery Innovation Days, a European platform dedicated to battery research and innovation. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend Battery Innovation Days 2026, which explores the complete battery lifecycle and the trends shaping Europe’s battery ecosystem.
Accepted businesses will benefit from virtual market briefing sessions led by sector experts covering regulatory frameworks, business culture, and best practices. They will also receive tailored virtual mentoring sessions, participate in in-market pitching and business-to-business meetings, engage with industry and innovation stakeholders, and take part in a site visit program.
The program is intended for Canadian companies offering high-performing batteries for mobile or stationary applications, battery materials, components and related technologies, advanced manufacturing, automation and process technologies, as well as recycling and material recovery solutions.
