The Economic Resilience Program (ERP) Consortium, which includes Mercy Corps, Right to Protection, Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation and JERU (Joint Emergency Response Unit of Welthungerhilfe and Concern Worldwide), is offering grants to support self-employed individuals and micro/small businesses in Ukraine, particularly those affected by displacement or damage caused after February 24, 2022.
The competition focuses on supporting entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners operating in the Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Odessa, and Vinnytsia regions, with particular attention to residents of small towns and rural areas. Priority categories include internally displaced persons (IDPs), individuals who previously held IDP status and returned to their permanent residence, veterans, persons with disabilities, family members or guardians of persons with disabilities, family members of deceased servicemen, single or large parents, individuals above 60 years of age, women, and youth engaged in or planning to start entrepreneurial activities.
The programme also supports a broad range of economic sectors including construction and repair work, bakeries and confectioneries, food establishments, farming, textile and footwear manufacturing, cosmetics and soap production, production activities, car services, renewable energy installation, cleaning and laundry services, beauty services, retail trade, transportation, translation services, sports and fitness, veterinary services, IT and telecommunications, photography and videography, healthcare and psychological services, tourism, educational services, arts and culture, and other business activities.
The maximum funding amount available under the competition is UAH 139,100. The amount may include taxes such as personal income tax and military levy, which may reduce the final payable grant amount to UAH 107,107 in accordance with Ukrainian tax legislation. Each participant may receive only one grant within the framework of the competition. The grants can be used for equipment procurement, purchase of consumables covering up to 20% of the total budget, and payment for consulting or equipment configuration services.
The programme is open to individual entrepreneurs, individuals conducting independent commercial activities without formal registration as entrepreneurs, and people with practical experience in a relevant field who intend to establish their own business.
