Deadline Date: May 30, 2026
Applications are now open for SMEs and aspiring solar professionals across West and Central Africa under the ROGEAP CTF 5th Grant Call and ASPIRE program to support renewable energy business growth, skills development, and expanded access to off-grid solar solutions.
The focus areas include renewable energy sector development, solar PV business development, entrepreneurship and innovation in the off-grid solar industry, technical skills development, installer certification, manufacturing, assembling, distribution, repairs and maintenance of solar systems, employment creation, women’s participation in the solar sector, and expansion of sustainable electricity access through stand-alone solar solutions.
The ROGEAP CTF 5th Grant Call invites Small and Medium Enterprises operating in the renewable energy sector to submit Expressions of Interest under Matching Grants and Market Entry Grants. The initiative supports SMEs engaged in developing and scaling solar energy solutions across eligible countries in West and Central Africa, helping strengthen the regional ecosystem for off-grid electricity access.
The ASPIRE component of the program is designed for women and men within specified age groups who aspire to enter the solar PV sector or upgrade their technical installation skills. It provides structured preparatory training, hands-on installation training in certified centers, subsidized regional certification examinations, and scholarships for selected women. The program also facilitates access to grant opportunities for participants seeking to establish or expand their presence in the solar energy value chain.
In addition, the initiative includes a business plan competition for start-ups and established companies in the off-grid solar sector. Selected participants may benefit from entrepreneurship bootcamps, participation in regional forums, pitching opportunities, and grant funding support. Financial awards are available for winning business ideas, including support for women-led enterprises, as part of efforts to strengthen innovation and inclusive participation in the renewable energy market.
The program is implemented across eligible countries in West and Central Africa, aiming to accelerate universal access to sustainable electricity services by 2030 through private sector engagement and capacity building in the renewable energy industry.
