Deadline Date: June 01, 2026
The Ministry of ICT and National Guidance (MoICT&NG) has launched a call to Ugandan innovators to participate in the Government Systems Prototype Showcase aimed at supporting the digitisation of Government services, systems, and institutions across Uganda.
The initiative focuses on digital identity and civil registration, revenue and financial management, health information systems, education management systems, land and property administration, agriculture and agribusiness management, labour management and employment services, pension management and social security, justice law and order systems, interoperability and data exchange, citizen engagement and service delivery, and monitoring and evaluation systems.
Through this call, the Ministry seeks to identify, assess, and register Ugandan innovators with working prototypes or functional systems relevant to Government service delivery. The initiative is part of the Government’s 2025/26 financial year plans to strengthen efficiency, transparency, and citizen access to public services through digital transformation.
The Prototype Showcase will also support the establishment of the Uganda National Innovator Registry, which will serve as a database of vetted Ugandan innovators that the Ministry and partner Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) can use for future Government digitisation assignments.
The Ministry intends to assess and shortlist prototypes that can be deployed, adapted, or further developed into operational Government systems while promoting local content and Ugandan-built digital public infrastructure.
The call is open to Ugandan-owned and registered technology companies and start-ups, individual Ugandan software developers and technology innovators, universities and research institutions based in Uganda, as well as innovation hubs and community technology groups operating within the country.
