Deadline Date: Ongoing
The TiHAN-IITH’s Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) program invites graduating students to develop entrepreneurial ventures in innovative autonomous navigation technologies.
The program focuses on autonomous and intelligent navigation systems for ground, aerial, and water surface vehicles, applications of autonomous navigation technologies in agriculture, defence, and disaster management, infrastructure monitoring including power lines, constructions, pipelines, and railway tracks, surveillance across maritime, aerial, and terrestrial environments, and environmental monitoring of air, water, and industrial pollutants.
Technological priorities include AI/ML frameworks for autonomous navigation and multi-sensory data aggregation using UAVs and ROVs, IoT and CPS architectures for efficient UAV and ROV deployment in the Indian context, communications and networking for autonomous navigation such as DSRC and CV2X, efficient edge computing architectures for multi-sensory information processing, robotics related to autonomous systems, smart mobility design for aerial and terrestrial vehicles, autonomous vehicle swarms and their applications, control, power, and design aspects of UAVs and ROVs, and connected unmanned aerial, terrestrial, underwater, and underground systems.
The EIR fellowship offers ₹3 Lakhs in funding for a duration of six months, supporting translational technology research and development with an emphasis on commercialization. This program aims to bridge academic research and industry applications while encouraging students to take up entrepreneurship in autonomous navigation systems.
Eligible candidates must be Indian citizens with a valid government ID and either completed or currently pursuing formal full-time education at the undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D., or post-doctoral level. Relevant experience is mandatory, and applicants must have a scalable technology-based business idea aligned with the thrust and technological focus areas of the program.
This fellowship provides a unique opportunity for students and researchers to transform innovative ideas into practical solutions while contributing to advancements in autonomous navigation technologies and commercial applications.
