The Support for Focus Area Innovation Projects call provides funding to encourage research, development, and innovation activities among enterprises in Hungary to develop innovative products, technologies, and services.
The focus areas of this initiative include supporting preventive, curative, and care systems to maintain healthy living, promoting the green transition of the economy and the development of a circular economy with emphasis on energy and agricultural technologies, supporting the digital transition of the economy and society, and funding excellence projects aligned with the objectives and priorities of the National Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3).
The program offers substantial financial support through two components. Component A provides funding ranging from HUF 100,000,000 to HUF 600,000,000, while Component B offers larger-scale support from HUF 600,000,000 to HUF 1,200,000,000. The total budget allocated for this call is HUF 106,880 million, with dedicated funding envelopes assigned to each national priority area.
Eligible applicants include micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises as well as large companies. Applications may be submitted individually or as part of a consortium, where research and knowledge-dissemination organizations can participate as consortium members in accordance with the relevant legal frameworks.
Projects funded under this call are expected to have a duration of 24 to 36 months, supporting the development and implementation of innovative solutions that contribute to Hungary’s economic transformation, technological advancement, and long-term competitiveness.
