The Tourism Events Grant Program (TEGP) offers funding opportunities to support and attract events that enhance Ballarat as a premier destination.
The program focuses on driving high levels of tourism visitation and yield throughout the year, amplifying Ballarat’s tourism destination brand, and showcasing and supporting Ballarat’s livability.
The TEGP aims to support a balanced calendar of events which provide exciting reasons to visit Ballarat and increase the vibrancy of the city and region for visitors and residents.
For-profit organisations and businesses that are committed to working collaboratively with other groups and businesses are eligible to apply. Applicants may request funding amounts between $5,000 and $20,000 (GST exclusive), with a maximum allocation of $20,000 per event across the annual funding program. The grant funding is distributed across three funding streams: Leisure events, Sport events, and Business events, and applicants are encouraged to select the funding stream that best aligns with their event category, with only one stream applicable per event.
This program provides an opportunity for organisers to create memorable events that not only attract tourists but also contribute to the local community by enhancing Ballarat’s cultural, social, and economic vibrancy. By participating in the TEGP, event organisers can access financial support to help bring their ideas to life while contributing to a thriving events calendar that benefits both visitors and residents alike.
