The Via Dinarica project has opened a public call for applications to support sustainable tourism development along the Via Dinarica trails and sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The focus areas of this call include supporting the development of accommodation infrastructure and improving tourist services in the field of sustainable tourism and green and circular economy along the trails and sites on the Via Dinarica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, under Priority Area 2: Improving the diverse and sustainable tourism offer along the trails and sites on the Via Dinarica. This public call is part of the third phase of the Via Dinarica project, titled “Sustainable Tourism for Green Development along the Via Dinarica Trails in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” and is financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, while being implemented and co-financed by the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska, with additional co-financing from the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
A total of 300,000.00 KM is available under Priority Area 2 to support the 12 best ranked project proposals. Grants for each application range from a minimum of 16,000.00 KM to a maximum of 25,000.00 KM. Each applicant is required to ensure co-financing of at least 30% of the total project value, with 70% co-financing provided from the project fund of this call.
The Via Dinarica initiative aims to promote the significant natural and cultural resources of the Western Balkans, enabling adventurous and recreational activities for nature lovers worldwide while preserving mountain areas, cultures, and landscapes that represent untouched nature in Europe. The current public call seeks to strengthen the tourism offer along the Via Dinarica by funding projects that enhance accommodation infrastructure and improve tourism services in line with sustainability principles.
