Cinescoop is a dedicated program of the Netherlands Film Fund that supports the production of ambitious Dutch feature films and feature-length animated films intended primarily for cinema audiences and aiming for the highest possible cinematic quality in both content and production.
The program focuses on ambitious Dutch feature films, feature-length animated films, cinema-oriented productions, high cinematic quality in content and production, original film projects with strong cultural value, children’s and youth films, Dutch directing talent with proven national or international experience, and films with the potential to reach a broad Dutch and/or international cinema audience.
Through Cinescoop, the Netherlands Film Fund supports a maximum of four Dutch films each year that are distinctive in ambition and quality and demonstrate the potential to engage wide audiences at both national and international levels. The program is specifically designed to strengthen high-quality cinema productions that stand out artistically and culturally.
Under Cinescoop, a maximum contribution of €1,800,000 is available for the production of a feature film or animated feature film, in line with applicable state aid frameworks. This contribution includes earmarked amounts for international sales deliveries, audio description and subtitling to improve accessibility for visually and hearing impaired audiences, and partial support for the producer’s marketing and promotional costs during the production phase.
In addition, the Fund provides support for sustainable production practices through a contribution towards the costs of an eco-manager, further reinforcing responsible and environmentally conscious filmmaking. A maximum of four feature films per year are eligible for support through the Cinescoop program, with detailed target amounts outlined in the Financial & Production Protocol.
