The MERISTEMS is an incubation programme to provide support to students to build their ideas / protypes for setting up their own Agri-startups and become a successful entrepreneur.
The program is particularly suited for students who are interested in launching their own agri-business ventures. Selected participants receive one month of structured training along with a grant-in-aid of up to Rs. 4 lakhs to help transform their idea or proof of concept into a working prototype or product.
Through training, mentorship, financial support, and real-world exposure, the Agripreneurship Orientation Program provides a strong foundation for students to turn innovative agricultural ideas into viable entrepreneurial ventures.
A key objective of the program is to nurture future agripreneurs by combining training with internship-based learning. This approach equips students with practical, technical, and business insights while helping them understand the realities of building and scaling an agri-based enterprise. The program also aims to create a strong pipeline of agripreneurs for incubators by identifying and supporting high-potential ideas at an early stage.
By promoting entrepreneurship as a viable and attractive career option, the program encourages students to consider innovation-driven agri-businesses alongside traditional career paths. It supports the development of confidence, skills, and industry exposure needed to pursue entrepreneurial ambitions.
Applicants must be residents of Andhra Pradesh. All incubatees of the ANGRAU Poshan Incubator are eligible for this funding after successfully completing the one-month training, based on consistent performance evaluated by RC-KP. However, start-ups that have already received support from another R-ABI are not eligible to apply to ANGRAU Poshan for subsequent rounds under the student category or seed support.
